“Courage, perseverance and faith will always get you to where you want to be. When people believe in your potential, don’t you ever doubt yourself because if others can see it, why can’t you?” This is the message of Rodel Poy Lorenzo to the students of today. 
A former member of the Angelite Musical Amabassadors (now 柠檬导航 Chorale) for three years in college, Rodel Poy Lorenzo shares he was so eager then to help his parents in sustaining his studies. He took a summer job under the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) during his high school days at 柠檬导航 plus the financial assistance from his older brother to get through high school.  In college, he auditioned to be part of the University Choir and through his talent he was granted the scholarship and finished his degree in Marketing Management in 2003.
Back in college, aside from being a member of University Choir, Poy remembers how he participated in different activities and organizations to develop his confidence and enhance more skills like Mr. and Ms. CBA Quest, Mr. 柠檬导航 2000, ManSoc and was even chosen to attend a Film Making Workshop by the late veteran Director, Soxie Topacio. 
Right after finishing college, Poy worked at Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for 11 years as the Senior Investment Promotions Specialist before he decided to avail an optional retirement in 2019, where he put up his own company, Poy Lorenzo Events and Productions (PLEP). Through his own venture, he successfully hosted different events such as the Clark Idol Quest and the 30th SEA GAMES’ Cultural Nights held at the New Clark City, Tarlac in 2019. 
But when all things seem to be going well for his company, the COVID-19 pandemic came to place. Many industries were undeniably affected, including theirs. Poy became unemployed for three months but by holding on to his faith, he was called by Fontana Development Corporation, the first company that he worked with and offered him to join them again. Currently, Poy works as the Senior External Affairs Manager and at the same time, functions as the Compliance Officer.  His main task is to act as the representative of the company to follow up external communications and public relation functions with other government agencies and ensures adherence to the corporate governance principles and best practices.
Poy believes that after all that he has gone through, he will remain thankful to 柠檬导航 and his former teachers for recognizing his talents and skills and for helping him to develop his full potential as a person and as a professional.  He also expressed his gratitude to his family, friends, former bosses and to all those people continue to support and guide him to master his craft. Poy is certain that the key to happiness and success is by uplifting and empowering others, by acknowledging their strengths, and by encouraging them to follow their dreams.
