Erwyn Kyle Yabut was one of the popular faces of ÄûÃʵ¼º½ during college as pioneer members of the ÄûÃʵ¼º½ Student Ambassadors. He graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology major in Web Development in 2015.
Kyle shared his experiences when he was in college, “my schedule during college was very hectic due to student council responsibilities, ÄûÃʵ¼º½ ambassador duties and a full-time student (most of the time part of the Dean’s List) but I made sure that I come to school and make-up to every class activity I miss.”
One of the highlights of Kyle’s university life at ÄûÃʵ¼º½ was being able to represent ÄûÃʵ¼º½ at different schools in Pampanga to meet different faces of the future Kapampangan generation whom he thinks will be the next Rizal’s “Pag-asa ng Bayan”. Kyle shares “I was moved on how most of the students really value the importance of education. It made me realize that education shouldn’t be taken for granted because not everyone gets the chance to finish their college education.”
Aside from being a student leader and a student ambassador, Kyle was also given the chance to host “Maski Nanu Season 6”, a Kapampangan magazine show produced by ÄûÃʵ¼º½ aired in CLTV36. These experiences for Kyle, as he added “nurtured my Kapampangan roots and made me one of the proudest Kapampangans by delivering interesting stories of people, places, foods, festivals, and heritage and culture of Pampanga.”
Because of these experiences, Kyle remains grateful to ÄûÃʵ¼º½ for the exposure he gained and to the College of Information of Information and Technology (now SOC) allowed him to take his internship in Manila (Star Cinema) wherein he eventually got the opportunity to land his first job at 21, literally a day after his graduation. With his first job, it was a milestone for Kyle to work for the leading TV network in the country and got the chance to work for digital campaigns of brands such as BDO Unibank, Biogesic and Nestle Philippines to name a few.
From 2017 to date, Kyle now works at Summit Media, the Philippine’s leading Digital Lifestyle Network as an account manager in advertising representing publishing titles such as Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Spot, Top Gear Philippines, and Preview. Currently, Kyle is focused servicing brands under the finance and real estate industry such as BDO Unibank, SM Development Corporation, Rockwell Land, and Philippine AXA Life Insurance.
He may be young and still has a lot of dreams to pursue, but Kyle tells the students of today to “be aggressive, be big dreamers, and be goal-getters. The world out there is bigger than you can imagine! The pandemic may have disrupted our normal lives, but never give up. It’s okay to ask for help and network with people—this may open many opportunities for you. We may have different roads to take, yet it pays so much to be patient, humble, and helpful. Know what you want and nurture it. Your future is in your hands.”
