SED Holds 7th Research Colloquium

To promote academic excellence and integrity, the School of Education (SED) conducted the 7th Research Colloquium on April 5 through an online conference.
The program commenced with the opening remarks of the Dean, Dr. Alma Natividad, who emphasized the valuable insights and innovations in conducting researches. This was followed by the introduction of the resource speaker by Dr. Elmer Sotiangco, the Program Chairperson of Teacher Ed. The discussion featured Dr. Felipe Pablo IV's topic on identifying and avoiding predatory journals through a comprehensive analysis of their background.
Paper presentations started with Mr. Rae Jan Philippe S. Carbonell, a Master of Arts in Teaching Science (MATS) graduate. His study focused on “Exploring Lesson Study as a Teacher Collaboration Strategy Towards Improving Science Instruction.”
Ms. Mary Abigail B. Tayag, a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature (MAELLT) graduate, presented her study on the “Journey of Teachers of English Teaching Literature in a State University.”
Ms. Jen Hillary Carlos, a Master of Arts in Education in Teaching Filipino (MAEdTF) graduate, concluded the graduate research presentations in her study “Pagbuo ng Interbensyon sa Pagpapataas ng Komprehensyon sa Pagbabasa.”
The undergraduate thesis presentation of Ms. Kathleen Infante, Ms. Jhulen Guiao, and Ms. Gabrielle Roque, third-year students from the Bachelor of Elementary Education program, dwelt on “An Assessment of the Use of Modern Multimedia Tools in Teaching Science on Intermediate Learners' Classroom Engagement.”
Questions were raised and recommendations were given in the Open Forum.
Dr. Cecilia Teodoro, the Graduate Program Coordinator, emphasized in her closing remarks to foster a community that is geared towards collaboration, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.
